Benefactor Program
Dugan Foundation was created in 2003 with one mission, one purpose; to create a sustainable, no-kill, companion animal community in Pierce County within 10 years, and put an end to the killing of healthy, available, adoptable, homeless companion animals. Dugan Foundation cannot achieve this goal alone by supporting organizations that embody the mission of the Foundation, this goal is achievable. We believe in the power of community alignment.
Dugan Foundation operates on the principles of stewardship and servant leadership. Our guiding principles are humility, forgiveness, honesty, trust, integrity and commitment. We believe “one voice” can change the world. We believe in the power of choice. We believe because we can.
Dugan Foundation Benefactor Program was created to:
- Build strong alliances with animal service and welfare organizations that support the development of a no-kill community in Pierce County.
- Recognize, support and build strong alliances with animal service and welfare organizations that are active community stewards working towards the development of a no-kill community in Pierce County.
- Provide financial resources to companion animal organizations that work in the areas of spay/neuter, sheltering, care, adoption and education..
- Raise public awareness and appreciation for organizations that work at the grassroots levels within their community to ensure human accountability for the needless killing of homeless companion animals.
Dugan Foundation will stop the killing. We will do so in collaboration with our community and the organizations within our community that do not support killing as a form of population control. We will be successful because we resolve ourselves to nothing less.
Our plan is simple. Stop the killing, find another way.
