OBJECTIVES

  • Provide business leadership, grant funding, events and programs to individuals and organizations that support the Vision, Mission and Values of the Foundation and work in the areas of:
    1. Shelter – Animals in transition
    2. Care – Animals in need
    3. Adopt – Animals to loving homes
    4. Educate – Future caretakers
  • ASSUMPTIONS
    • The Dugan Foundation will remain healthy and viable and growing and achieving over the next three year period
    • Tacoma/Pierce County has the capacity to support capital campaigns as well as all our events.
    • Specific and designated events will continue to fund our operations
    • DF will continue to depend on sponsorship development and events for its revenues until an endowment base is in place.
    • Fur Ball, Woofstock and Happy Howlidays will continue to Foundation signature events
    • The Dugan Foundation will retain its current volunteers, grow new volunteers as we grow – attract and retain year over year.
    • Current organizations and business support will remain healthy and in continued support of the Foundation.
  • KEY AREAS
  • Governance- Business Leadership of the Foundation.  Areas of work in this category require Board of Director approval and include but may not be limited to the following:

    • Strategic Planning and Progress Evaluations
    • Board of Director Assignments
    • Corporation and By-Law Documentation
    • Branding
    • Management of Unrestricted Assets
    • Policy Development and Adoption
    • Board Development
    • Endowment and Financial Planning

    Administration– Foundation Operations.  Areas of work in this category do not require Board of Director approval and include but may not be limited to the following:

    • Legal
    • Taxes
    • Foundation Reporting
    • Accounting
    • Record Keeping
    • Social Networking
    • General Marketing
    • Website

    Programs– Development and implementation of Foundation Programs for other than fundraising purposes.  Work in this category may include but may not be limited to the following:

    • Woofstock
    • Happy Howlidays

    Fundraising- Development and implementation of Foundation Programs specifically designed for fundraising purposes.  Areas of work in this category may include but may not be limit to the following:

    • Fur Ball
    • Calendar/Notecards
    • Grant Solicitations

    Capital Projects- Development and implementation and/or funding of Foundation Capital Projects.  Areas of work in this category may include but may not be limited to the following:

    • Spay Neuter Clinics
    • Sanctuary
    • Off Leash Parks

    Grant Giving– The giving and managing of grant funding to individuals/ organizations that are selected based on a prescriptive process of submittal review and analysis by the Board of Directors.
